Everyone is invited to help The Exchange celebrate our 60th birthday on Saturday, April 21! We’ll be celebrating all day long with birthday cake and offering a free gift wrap to customers who purchase something in the store during our party! After all, any party needs presents…but you’ll be walking out with one in honor of our big day.
To add to the festivities, we’ll be offering for pre-sale copies of Be Our Guest, a children’s picture book by Dallas native Gray Malin. The fine art photographer and NY Times bestselling author’s first children’s book is compiled from his acclaimed series of photographs, Gray Malin at The Parker Palm Springs. What child wouldn’t want to live in an animal-only hotel in Palm Springs?! So kids and “kids at heart” will both want this one!
We were feeling nostalgic around this special birthday and worked with South Austin Gallery to make replicas of the tiles which surrounded the fireplace in our first store! That was sure a long time ago, but these current coasters would be a great gift for any lover of blue and white!
Speaking of gifts, many of you know that each year worthy agencies in Dallas and beyond receive a gift from us. We give away our profits each and every year in the form of grants to non-profits who do life-changing work for the most vulnerable among us. We’ve done this every year since 1958, when we opened our doors for the first time. And this year, we reach a remarkable milestone! In May, when this year’s recipients receive their grants, over $9 million will have been distributed in Dallas, the nation and into the world beyond. We are thrilled to reach this mark but know that there is so much more to be done. So stop by our party, wish us a Happy Birthday, eat some cake and purchase something lovely for you or a friend.
